A MOTORIST from Orange died when he was involved in a three-car crash on the Garden Grove (22) Freeway in Westminster Sunday afternoon.

A three-car crash on the Garden Grove Freeway Sunday afternoon took the life of a 54-year-man from Orange, according to the California Highway Patrol. The motorist was identified as Felipe Nunez.

The collision occurred on the eastbound State Route 22 just each of Beach Boulevard in Westminster around 2:40 p.m. The incident started when a Ford Explorer went out of control as it entered the freeway at Beach and struck the Toyota Corolla driven by Nunez, which in turn crashed into a Nissan Quest.

According to the CHP, the other drivers suffered minor injuries, but Nunez was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:03 p.m.
