An 18-year-old man is dead after he was fatally shot by a police officer seeking to stop him in an attack on students at Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. The dead man has been identified as Abdul Razak Ali Artan, a student at OSU. Police say he injured 11 people with his car and a kitchen knife in a rampage Monday morning.

MICHIGAN CALLED FOR TRUMP, BUT RECOUNT LOOMS
The close presidential race in Michigan has been officially called for Republican nominee Donald Trump. Election officials announced Monday that the President-elect had beaten Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton by a margin of 10,704 votes out of 4.8 million cast in the Nov. 8 balloting. That gives Trump 306 votes to 232 for Clinton; 270 are needed. At the same time, Green Party nominee Jill Stein said she would pursue a recount in Michigan as well as Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, three states which narrowly went for Trump.

LARGE CROWDS MOURN CASTRO IN HAVANA
Masses of people numbering in the hundreds of thousands in the capital of Cuba Monday, mourning the passing of Fidel Castro, who led the nation for 50 years. It’s part of nine days of official mourning decreed by the Communist nation’s leadership.
