UPDATE: A planned fly-over of the Huntington Beach Pier area Thursday morning was cancelled because of the rainy weather. The U.S. Navy aerial acrobatic team is scheduled to perform at the second annual Breitling Air Show in Huntington Beach planned for Sept. 30-Oct.1 , 2017.
The first annual Huntington Beach Breitling Air Show made a big noise in 2016, attracting over a half a million spectators to Surf City. The second annual event is set for Sept. 29 to Oct. 1, 2017, but residents and others will get a sneak preview of coming attractions next Thursday.
According to the City of Huntington Beach, the U.S. Navy aerial acrobatic team will do a flyover of the Huntington Beach Pier between 9:30 and 10 a.m. The Blue Angels will headline the show this fall and be joined by the Canadian Forces Snowbirds team.
Residents are advised that the “survey flight’ by the jet aircraft will be noisy, and the police department is asking people not to call 9-1-1 to report an emergency based on the racket.
Breitling is a manufacturer of Swiss watches and sponsors aviation events as a promotional tool.
