Ducks, Aztecs, Oilers in first places

THE ANAHEIM DUCKS moved into a tie for first place in the NHL Pacific Division with a win Friday night.

The Anaheim Ducks moved into a tie for first place in the NHL Pacific Division with their 3-1 win over the Winnipeg Jets Friday at the Honda Center. The victory put the Orange County team at 40-23-11, worth 91 points. That’s a tie with the San Jose Sharks, who have lost five regulation games in a row.

Corey Perry, Andrew Cogliano and Jakob Silfverberg scored for the Ducks and Jonathan Bernier had 17 saves in goal for Anaheim.

“Climbing in the right direction, for sure,” Anaheim defenseman Cam Fowler said. “We’re finding ways to win hockey games.”

The Ducks are next in action Sunday hosting the New York Rangers (45-25-4).
