Corey Perry scored with a minute and a half gone in overtime to give the Anaheim Ducks a crushing 5-4 come-from-behind win over the Calgary Flames on the road Monday night.
His score capped a stirring comeback from a 4-1 deficit and gave the Orange County team a 3-0 edge in the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs.
The Ducks fell behind 2-0 and 4-1, but rallied with scores by Nick Ritchie, Shea Theodore (two) and Nate Thompson to send the game into overtime.
Perry’s score was a wrist shot with assists to Rickard Rakell and Thompson.
The fourth and possibly final game of the series is set for Wednesday, also at the Saddledome in Calgary. If the Flames should win that game, the series will shift back to Anaheim on Friday.
