After a 10-0 shutout loss to the Seattle Mariners on Friday, the Los Angeles Angels got some payback with a 4-0 win on Saturday at the Big A in Anaheim. Chief among the Halo heroes was pitcher Ricky Nolasco, who pitched a rare complete game.
The win put the Angels (43-42) back over .500 after a pair of losses. They remain in second place in the American League West, 13.5 games back of the first place Houston Astros, but just one game out of the AL wild card race.
Andrelton Simmons gave the Angels a 1-0 win in the second inning with his ninth home run of the year. The Halos added a run in the third on a line drive RBI single by Cameron Maybin, then scored two more in the bottom of the seventh on a wild pitch and a ground out.
The series with the M’s concludes Sunday with Jesse Chavez (5-8) making the start for the home team.
