City clerk is found killed in Seal Beach

AN INVESTIGATION is underway into the fatal shooting of a woman and a man in a Seal Beach apartment.

The city clerk of Westminster and a Los Alamitos police captain are dead after a shooting Sunday night in Seal Beach. According to Sgt. Michael of the Seal Beach Police Department, an investigation into the incident is underway as of Monday.

According to the SBPD, the deceased are Amanda Jensen, 37, of Garden Grove – Westminster’s clerk – and police captain Rick Moore, 49, of Seal Beach. They both died of gunshot wounds at an apartment in the 100 block of 7th Street.

The incident began around 7:20 a.m. on Sunday when police received a call from a woman asking for help. The call was disconnected and witnesses told arriving officers they had heard shots coming from the apartment.

Police surrounded the location and nearby area and a SWAT team was summoned. When police entered the apartment, they found the two bodies.

Jensen served as assistant city clerk in Westminster from April 2006 to September 2015, and became city clerk in October 2015.
