A VOLUNTEER coach and Marine Corps recruiter at Marina High in Huntington Beach has been arrested on a charge of sexually assaulting a female student.

A volunteer coach at Marina High School in Huntington Beach has been arrested on a charge of sexual assault of a minor. According to Angelo Bennett, public information officer for the Huntington Beach Police Department, the suspect is Gonzalo Castro, 28, of San Clemente.

His arrest stemmed from a complaint filed by a girl, 17-years-old at the time, who said that Castro, also a U.S. Marine Corps recruiter, had sexually assaulted her before the end of the school year.

She told police she had met him during the track season and he assaulted her during an off-campus training run. After an investigation, Castro was arrested. In addition to recruiting at Marina, he was also recruiting for the USMC at Ocean View High School in Huntington Beach.
