A REPORT on efforts to deal with homelessness is on the agenda for Wednesday’s meeting of the Westminster City Council.
An update on efforts to deal with the problem of homelessness tops Wednesday’s agenda of a special meeting of the Westminster City Council.
Brad Fieldhouse, executive director of the non-profit City Net, will address the council with a report on what’s being done and what’s planned. City Net has been hired by Westminster, as well as Anaheim, Buena Park, Garden Grove, La Habra, Santa Ana, Stanton and Tustin, to provide services to deal with the increasing issues related to homeless people in the city.
He will speak on what City Net is, its pilot project, long term goals, census methodology and more.
On Feb. 8 the council voted to retain City Net as part of a three-part “community improvement” initiative including a crackdown on “troubled businesses” such as massage and reflexology firms, and the hiring of two additional part-time code enforcement officers.
The council will meet at 7 p.m. in the council chambers at 8200 Westminster Ave., following a 5:30 p.m. closed session.
