SCHOOLS will be starting as soon as this Wednesday in the Garden Grove-Huntington Beach-Westminster area.

Students may moan, teacher may sigh and parents can relax, but there’s no getting around the fact that classes are starting soon in public schools and colleges in the Garden Grove-Huntington Beach-Westminster area.

The Orange Unified School District a K-12 system, will start on Wednesday, Aug. 23. The OUSD serves Orange and parts of Anaheim and Garden Grove.

Last to start among area systems will be the Huntington Beach City School District (also K-8, southern part of Huntington Beach), and the Ocean View School District (K-8, serving mostly the northern portion of Huntington Beach) which have Thursday, Sept. 7 as the first day of class for the 2017-18 academic year.

Here are the starting days and dates for other schools in the area.

• Garden Grove Unified School District (K-12, serving most of Garden Grove and parts of Westminster and other cities): Wednesday, Aug. 30.
• Golden West College (community college based in Huntington Beach): Monday, Aug. 28.
• Huntington Beach Union High School District (9-12, serving all of Huntington Beach as well as parts of Westminster and Fountain Valley): Wednesday, Aug. 30.
• Westminster School District (K-8, serving most of Westminster but also parts of Fountain Valley, Garden Grove and Huntington Beach): Thursday, Aug. 31.
