Football is taking over a lot of the entertainment spotlight this weekend, with high school and pro games to attend and watch. But there’s still a nice selection of fun to be had this weekend in the Garden Grove-Huntington Beach-Westminster.

Opening this week in local cinemas:

  • “Leap,” an animated movie about raising ballet and flying in 19th century France. Elle Fanning voices dancer Felicie.  Rated PG-13.
  • “Birth of a Dragon.” Semi-autobiographical film about the emergence of martial arts star Bruce Lee. Rated PG-13.
  • “Five Steps of Love.” Comedy-romance in Vietnamese with English subtitles.

The 18th annual Elvis Festival will take over Main Street in downtown Garden Grove on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. There will be bands, Elvis tribute artists, crafts for sale, a car show and more.

  • Thursday is Huntington Beach Night at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, starting at 7:05 p.m. as the Angels take on the Texas Rangers. Admission is $22 and includes a hat and a Nolan Ryan bobble-head figure.

“Henry IV, Part One” concludes this weekend at the Festival Amphitheater on Main Street in Garden Grove. Produced by Shakespeare Orange County, performances Friday and Sunday.
