John Gibson returned from a four-game injury hiatus to boost the Anaheim Ducks to a 3-2 win over the Edmonton Oilers Friday night at Honda Center.
He had 30 saves as the Ducks saw their record improve to 27-19-4, good for 64 points and a three-way tie for third in the NHL Pacific Division.
“We have confidence in both of our goalies. Gibby has been playing unreal,” Lindholm said. “He’s a world-class goalie. Everyone knows that. You’re comfortable when he’s in there and he’s comfortable with us in front of him. It was nice to see him back in net.”
The Ducks got goals from Hampus Lindholm (his eighth of the season), Corey Perry (11th) and Ryan Kesler (sixth) in the victory.
Anaheim will get a chance to break up that logjam in the Pacific on Sunday when the team hosts the San Jose Sharks (28-18-8) at Honda Center.
