A HUNTINGTON BEACH man was sentenced Monday to 23 years in state prison for the attempted murder of a woman in 2015.

A Huntington Beach man who pleaded guilty last week to attempted murder and solicitation to commit murder was sentenced to 23 years in state prison on Monday.

According to the Orange County District Attorney’s office, Joseph Jordan Taylor was arrested in May 2015 after making plans to murder a woman, and paying Huntington Beach police officers posing as “hit men” to complete the crime.

Taylor had previously been convicted in 2007 of making criminal threats.
