A free movie night is coming to the H. Louis Lake Senior Center in Garden Grove on Tuesday, June 5. “The Commuter,” starring Liam Neeson and Vera Farmiga, will be shown in the dining room at 11300 Stanford Ave. starting at 5 p.m.
Seniors are invited to enjoy free refreshments and the movie, which tells the story of a police officer turned insurance salesman who must find a train passenger carrying something dangerous.

Splash pad is open for the season
The Splash Pad at Sigler Park in Westminster opened this Memorial Day weekend. The hours of operation will be 12-5 p.m. on weekend through June 17 and then daily beginning June 23 and continuing through Sept. 3 (Labor Day).

Neighborhood get-together planned
The 15th annual Neighborhood Meeting and Backyard Brunch will be held on Saturday, June 2, an event sponsored by the Garden Grove Neighborhood Association.
It will be held at 12381 Meade St. (off Lampson Avenue) in Garden Grove.
Speakers will include local elected officials as well as city employees who can answer questions about animal care, public works, economic development and code enforcement.
