The Los Angeles Angels continued to struggle in the latter part of this 14-game road trip, losing 8-6 to the Oakland A’s on Saturday in the Bay Area.

A 3-1 lead melted away before rallies by the home team as the Halos lost their fifth contest in six games to fall to 38-33. The win by the Athletics snapped a four-game skid for them.

Chris Young hit a three-run home run for the Angels in the fifth. John Lamb worked five good innings, giving up three hits and one earned run. He walked two and struck out five batters.

But the A’s (35-36) scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth – with the help of two home runs – and went on to the win.

The series will finish on Sunday with Andrew Heaney (3-5) going for the Angels against Daniel Mengden (0-2).
