A man was fatally wounded by Huntington Beach police in an incident early Thursday morning.
According to Officer Angela Bennett, public information officer for the HBPD, police located a stolen vehicle at about 12:30 am. The suspects fled from officers and a chase resulted, ending in the area of 12th Street and Palm Avenue.
There, two suspects ran from the vehicle. One was taken into custody and the other was shot by police. He was taken to a local hospital and treated for gunshot wounds where he later died. No officers were injured.
A gun was located at the scene, according to the HBPD. The Orange County Sheriff’s Department is handling the investigation.
