Suspect sought in restroom knife attack

AN ELDERLY man was stabbed in a fast food restaurant in Garden Grove Saturday morning.

A suspect is being sought in a knife attack on an elderly man in the restroom of a fast food restaurant in Garden Grove on Saturday morning.

According to Sgt. Mario Martinez of the GGPD, the attempted homicide was reported at 10:52 a.m. at the eatery in the 13900 block of Harbor Boulevard.

The victim had been stabbed multiple times in his upper body and was taken to a local hospital with wounds that were not considered life-threatening.

Surveillance cameras showed a male suspect leaving the restroom after the victim entered, and then showed the suspect leaving and running through the parking lot.

The unnamed restaurant was closed for several hours while patrons and employees were questioned. A motive for the attack is unknown.

The suspect is described as a male Hispanic, 20 to 30 years of age, 6-feet tall and with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a black hat, a black long-sleeved shirt and black pants.
