Suspect sought in robbery, shooting

POLICE are searching for a suspect in a shooting that took place Monday night in connection with an armed robbery on Dale Street in Garden Grove (Shutterstock).

UPDATE: Garden Grove police have released additional information about Monday night’s shooting incident on Dale Street.

  • The suspect is an Hispanic man in his late 30s to 40s, wearing a white shirt and dark pants.
  • The victim is an Hispanic man in his 50s, a resident of Buena Park.
  • The suspect brandished a gun at the victim and demanded property. The victim was able to fend off the suspect and chased him a short distance before the suspect turned and fired shots at the victim, who was struck in the lower leg.

Police are searching for a man suspected of shooting another man Monday evening in the course of an armed robbery in Garden Grove.

According to the GGPD, the incident occurred around 7 p.m. in the area of 11350 Dale St., near Rancho Alamitos High School. The victim suffered a gunshot wound that was not considered life threatening.

Officers closed off Dale Street for two hours and searched the area for the suspect, who was not located. He is described as a male Hispanic in his 40s armed with a handgun.
