This time, the Angels rally late to win

THE LOSA ANGELES ANGELS came from behind to win big on Thursday and the Pacifica Mariners finished their softball league season unbeaten.

On Wednesday, the Los Angeles Angels built a big early lead and ended up losing. On Thursday, the Halos turned the tables and came out with an 11-5 win over the New York Yankees in Anaheim.

The Yanks led 4-0 in the early going, but the Angels scored 11 unanswered runs to run away with the game. David Fletcher had five RBIs – including three on a triple – and Kole Calhoun hit a three-run homer as the Angels avoided a sweep. Tommy La Stella went deep again for his seventh homer of the season.

Now, the Orange County team is 10-16, fifth place in the American League West, six games back of the lead. The Angels will hit the road to play the Kansas City Royals (8-17) with Tyler Skaggs (1-2) slated to make the start on Friday.
