The 2019-2020 municipal budget was passed Tuesday night by the Stanton City Council.
On a 4-0 vote (Councilmember Rigoberto Ramirez was absent), the council approved the spending plan for the city that includes $35.4 in revenues, $28.1 million in appropriations and a capital budget of $20.7 for the coming fiscal year, beginning on July 1.
That budget is balanced with $22.6 in revenues (taxes), $22.6 million in appropriations (expenditures) and $304,00 in net transfers from the general fund.
Also approved on a 4-0 vote was an agreement with Trauma Intervention Programs, Inc. to provide counseling and support to victims of traumatic incidents such as a death in the family, witnessed violence and family violence.
