A 23-YEAR-OLD man was fatally shot early Monday morning in Huntington Beach (Shutterstock).

Huntington Beach police are investigating the apparent homicide of a 23-year-old man early Monday morning.

According to Officer Angela Bennett of the HBPD, police were sent to the 16700 block of Viewpoint Lane around 3:56 a.m. in response to a report of a gunshot. That’s in the area southwest of Heil Avenue and Beach Boulevard. Arriving officers found the man’s body.

The name of the victim is not sbeing released pending notification of the next of kin. “Police have a reason to believe there is no threat to the public and [that] this was an isolated incident,” according to Officer Bennett.
