Pedestrian is fatally stuck by car

A MIDWAY CITY MAN died after he was struck by a car in Huntington Beach on Saturday night (Shutterstock).

A 59-year-old Midway City man died after he was struck by a car while he was crossing a street in Huntington Beach on Friday night.

According to Motor Sgt. Eric Warken, the incident took place in the area of Beach Boulevard and Blaylock Drive (just south of Warner Avenue) around 10:45 p.m.

Arriving officers found the man lying on the sidewalk, having suffered major trauma. He was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange where he succumbed to his injuries.

He had been struck by a black and purple 1999 Saturn driven by a 52-year-old Huntington Beach woman. Her car was traveling north on Beach when the pedestrian was crossing the roadway in front of the car.

Police believe he was not in a crosswalk when struck.
