Friends Christian School, a private Christian school in North Orange County, has announced a new preschool campus in Garden Grove is in development and will be ready to welcome preschool students beginning in the 2019-2020 school year.
School starts on Aug. 26. The new Friends Christian Preschool campus will be developed at 12211 Magnolia St. in partnership with Garden Grove Friends Church.
“We couldn’t be more excited for our new partnership with Friends Christian School. We have a great desire as a church to meet the needs of the Garden Grove community and we believe an active, healthy preschool is a perfect addition to our campus and city. We look forward to the excellence of the Friends Christian School and all that we can do to help meet the needs of our community together,” said Taylor Holleman, family pastor at Garden Grove Friends Church.
GG Veterans’s Center to open at Coastline
The grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for a Veterans Resource Center on the Garden Grove campus of Coastline College will be held on Monday, Aug. 19 at 12901 Euclid St. (at Acacia Parkway).
It’s the third veteran’s center in the Coast Community College District.
Tours and refreshments will be conducted from 2-4 p.m., with the ribbon-cutting ceremony at 3 p.m. Coastline is headquartered in Fountain Valley and has campuses in Garden Grove, Westminster and Newport Beach.
Surf’s up on Thursday in Westminster
The City of Westminster’s free concert for the week will feature The Surf City Allstars. This band is believed to be the only band in the world containing members who have played and sung lead vocals in both the Beach Boys and the Jan & Dean bands.
The concert will take place on Thursday, Aug. 8 from 6 p.m.-7:30 p.m. in the Civic Center Sunken Garden located at 8200 Westminster Blvd.
Concertgoers may bring a picnic dinner or enjoy the food items sold by various vendors. All concerts will include children’s activities and games.
