The man sought in connection with the death of his mother as a “person of interest” was arrested by Garden Grove police Thursday afternoon for the killing.
According to Lt. Carl Whitney of the GGPD, Jonathan Michael Warner, 28, was taken into custody and will be charged with the fatal stabbing of Vivian Wolff.
Her body was found in a home in the 14000 block of Flower Street on Tuesday. Police sought to contact her son and housemate and on Thursday at 1:45 p.m., officers were dispatched to the intersection of 9th Street and College Avenue regarding a witnesses’ report of Warner walking in the area.
Warner allegedly assaulted an officer and tried to flee on foot, but was captured. He was brought to the police department and interviewed by detectives. According to Lt. Whitney, Warner confessed to the murder of his mother and was taken to Orange County Jail in Santa Ana where he was booked.
