SANTA CLAUS is coming to town … Westminster .. for a breakfast event on Dec. 7 (Shutterstock).

Santa Claus is making a special trip to Westminster on Saturday, Dec. 7 for a breakfast at the Westminster Community Services Building. It will be held in the East/West Room from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

The breakfast will feature the meal, crafts, and a small stocking for each child. Children must be accompanied by an adult. The cost is $8 per person and all family members must be pre-registered. Reservations are taken on a first-come, first-served basis as space is limited.

Circle View gets Blue Ribbon award

A special assembly was held today (Friday) at Circle View Elementary School in Huntington Beach in recognition of the school receiving the U.S. Department of Education’s National Blue Ribbon Schools Award in Washington, D.C. last week.

The recognition is based on the school’s academic performance; Circle View is one of only 362 schools nationwide selected for 2019. Circle View is part of the Ocean View School District.

Black Friday goes “BiGG” for 2019

The Buy in Garden Grove (BiGG) campaign will kick off on Friday, Nov. 29 and continue through Friday, Dec. 20. For every $50 in total cash register receipts, Garden Grove shoppers will get a raffle ticket providing the opportunity to win $500 or a one-night stay at the Great Wolf Lodge Southern California.

Receipts must be from a Garden Grove business. Bring them to the Garden Grove Chamber of Commerce, 12866 Main St., Suite 102 before 5 p.m. on Dec. 20.
