The jury trial of a Huntington Beach man accused of the murder of his roommate has been scheduled to begin next Tuesday, Dec. 10.

According to the Orange County District Attorney’s office, Alexandre Louis Antal will stand trial for the fatal stabbing of Michael Urso, 32, shortly after midnight on July 12, 2012.

Antal was playing video games with Urso when he allegedly fatally stabbed the victim with a knife and fled the scene.

Other people living in the home heard screaming and rushed to his aid, calling 911, but the victim died at the scene. At about 3:45 a.m., Huntington Beach police located and arrested the defendant at the Santa Ana River Bridge, recovering a knife on the ground a few feet from him.

The trial was originally scheduled to be held in November 2018, but has been three times postponed. The proceedings are set to take place in the Central Justice Center in Santa Ana, commencing at 9 a.m.
