“SITE C” on Harbor Boulevard in Garden Grove would feature two upscale hotels (City of Garden Grove).
Another step forward toward the long-awaited “Site C” hotel project may be taken next week at the Garden Grove Planning Commission’s Feb. 20 meeting.
Planners will take up an amended tract map for this upscale hotel, restaurant and retail development on the east side of Harbor Boulevard and north of Twintree Lane. That’s south of the Target department store located at Chapman Avenue and Harbor.
The commission will be asked to re-configure 15 existing parcels to “facilitate” development and to further subdivide the commercial lots from the previous approval of two commercial lots into four for financing purposes.
Envisioned are two luxury hotels with a total of 769 rooms, along with some eateries and shops. One is The Kimpton, a 200-room “boutique” four star operation and the other is LeMeridien, a 400-room tower.
Development of “Site C” has been a long time coming, stalled by the Great Recession, the end of redevelopment and other factors.
The commission will meet at 7 p.m. in the council chambers in the Community Meeting Center, 11300 Stanford Ave.
