Two local high school sports teams are still alive in CIF-SS playoffs as we head into the weekend.

Orangewood Academy of Garden Grove will host North High of Torrance on Saturday at 7 p.m. in a Division 2AA girls’ basketball semifinal contest.

The Spartans (24-6) are the second place team from the San Joaquin League while the Saxons (24-2) are the runner-up team from the Pioneer League. Winner of that game advances to the finals on Feb. 29.

Marina High’s girls’ water polo team will host Flintridge Prep on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in the Division 6 CIF-SS final at William Woollett Jr. Aquatic Center in Irvine.

Tickets at the Woollett are $10 general admission and $5 for high school students (with high school ID) and $5 for children 13 and under.
