Local bat teams post four victories

FOUR LOCAL teams posted baseball and softball wins on Friday (Shutterstock).

High school baseball and softball scores from Friday for teams serving the communities of Garden Grove, Huntington Beach, Stanton and Westminster.

BASEBALL

  • Pacifica 4, El Toro 1. Zach Dickason had two hits, two RBIs and a walk for the Mariners.
  • Marina 4, El Modena 1. Chad Lux pitched seven innings, gave up five hits, one strikeout and no walks for the Vikings.
  • Garden Grove 2, Rancho Alamitos 1. Logan Pactwa pitched seven innings, yielding two hits and one run, while striking out one.

SOFTBALL

  • Huntington Beach 12, Foothill 0. Shelbi Ortiz had two hits and three RBIs for the Oilers. Devyen Greer and Kayla Hayashi combined on a no-hitter. Green struck out 12 batters.
