Coronavirus cases are up again

ORANGE COUNTY’S daily count of new confirmed coronavirus cases rose to 67 on Wednesday from 29 the day before. Seventy sufferers are in OC intensive care units (Pexels).

After a near record low the day before, the count of confirmed new coronavirus cases in Orange County has almost doubled, according to figures posted Wednesday.

Today’s total of new cases is 67, compared to Tuesday’s 29. The cumulative cases are now at 1,753, reported the Orange County Health Care Agency. One new death was reported, bringing the total to 34.

The latest tally shows 162 cases hospitalized, with 70 now in intensive care units.

Anaheim leads all Orange County cities with 230 confirmed cases, followed by Santa Ana with 184, Huntington Beach with 153, Irvine with 119 and Newport Beach with 89.

In the Tribunes coverage area, Surf City leads followed by Garden Grove with 69, Westminster with 26 and Stanton with 15.
