Corona cases down, but four die

ORANGE COUNTY’S daily count of new confirmed coronavirus cases was 69 on Tuesday, but four persons died (Pexels).

The number of new confirmed coronavirus cases in Orange County declined for the second day in Tuesday’s tally, but four deaths were reported as well.

According to the Orange County Health Care Agency, 69 new cases were reported, down from 89 in Monday’s tally, 107 on Sunday and 99 on Saturday.

That brings the cumulative total of OC cases to 2,873. Of those, 251 are at skilled nursing facilities and 143 are inmates at Orange County Jail in Santa Ana.

The four deaths reported Tuesday brings the total to 61. Of those, 11 were residents of skilled nursing facilities.

Tests reported Tuesday are 2,062, bringing the total so far to 39,112. Two hundred and two cases are now in hospitals, with 62 in intensive care units.

City-by-city, Santa Ana has resumed its status as having the most cases with 433, followed by Anaheim (428), Huntington Beach (230), Garden Grove (143) and Irvine (137).

Local cities Westminster and Stanton account for 47 and 28 cases respectively.
