Lowest virus count since May 19

TUESDAY’S report on new coroanvirus cases in Orange County was the lowest since May 19 (Shutterstock).

The lowest count of new confirmed coronavirus cases in several weeks was reported in Tuesday’s tally from the Orange County Heath Care Agency.

A total of 93 new infections were compiled, compared to 113 the day before and the lowest since a count of 59 on May 19.

That brings the to-date total to 7,614, which includes 821 residents of skilled nursing facilities and 384 inmates of Orange County jails. Of that number, 3,372 are considered to be recovered.

Eight deaths were reported, bringing that count to 185, including 87 residents of skilled nursing centers.

Three hundred and four COVID-19 cases are currently hospitalized, with 146 in intensive care units.

City statistics show Santa Ana the leader with 1,512 cases (up 24 cases), followed by Anaheim with 1,350 (up 19 cases), Garden Grove with 423 (up three cases), Huntington Beach with 373 (up four cases) and Orange  (up eight cases).

Westminster has 172 cases (up one case) and Stanton has 93 (up two).
