New coronavirus cases reported Wednesday to the Orange County Health Care Authority totaled 767, a decline from Tuesday’s 990. Eight deaths were reported as well. That’s down from 20.
The new cumulative total of cases is 31,743; the new total of fatalities is at 521.
According to the report, 699 COVID-19 cases are now hospitalized, with 233 in intensive care units.
Wednesday’s positivity rate – the percentage of those tested who turn out “positive” for the virus – is at 12.9 percent, up from 12.4 percent. The three-day average hospitalization increase rate is at 1.3 percent.

- Santa Ana: 5,958 (137).
- Anaheim: 5,462 (127).
- Garden Grove: 1,678 (18).
- Huntington Beach: 1,515 (44).
- Orange: 1,472 (18).
Westminster has 587 cases with 14 deaths; Stanton has 372 cases and four deaths.
