A chase that began in Stanton ended up in a fatal crash in Garden Grove Thursday afternoon, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
The incident started around 5:30 p.m. in the area of Katella Avenue and Beach Boulevard when OCSD deputies attempted to make a vehicle stop on a car suspected to be stolen. The automobile – which had three occupants – accelerated away and the pursuit ended when the vehicle crashed into a tree or utility pole in the area of Chapman Avenue and Magnolia Avenue.
One man died at the scene, and another at a local hospital. A third person was in critical condition.
