Mayor Steve Jones could face as many as four rivals for the top elected post in Garden Grove in the Nov. 3 general election.
According to the latest information supplied by the city clerk’s office, these are the people who have taken out papers to run for mayor and city council. Those who have returned their paperwork and qualified are marked with an asterisk.
- For mayor: Steve Jones,* Phat Bui, Larry Miller, Duy Nguyen, Donald Taylor.*
- For District 2 seat: Julie Chau Diep, John R. O’Neill.*
- For District 5 seat: Stephanie Klopfenstein.*
- For District 6 seat: Kim B. Nguyen.*
The deadline for candidates to pull nomination papers, return completed documents and qualify is Friday, Aug. 7.
