Wednesday’s corona total at 295

THE NUMBER of new reported COVID-19 cases is at to 295 in Wednesday’s report for the OC (Shutterstock).

Wednesday’s total of new COVID-19 cases reported to the Orange County Health Authority is 295, up slightly from Tuesday’s 287.

There were 18 deaths reported Wednesday and five on Tuesday. The new to-date total of coronavirus cases for Orange County is 44,507, of which 35,860 are considered recovered. The death total is 833.

Wednesday’s test positivity rate is at 5.9 percent, continuing a steady drop. Tuesday’s number was 6.2 percent. The goal is less than 8 percent. “Positivity” relates to that portion on people who are tested and end up positive for the coronavirus, regardless of symptoms.

Here is a list of Orange County cities with the most cases. Deaths are in parentheses.

  • Santa Ana: 8,680 (212).
  • Anaheim: 7,594 (193).
  • Garden Grove: 2,429 (45).
  • Orange: 2,049 (36).
  • Huntington Beach: 1,968 (56).

Westminster had 837 cases and 21 deaths; Stanton had 557 cases and nine deaths.
