Motorcyclist killed in Santa Ana

A SANTA ANA man died Saturday night after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a truck in Santa Ana (Shutterstock).

A 57-year-old motorcyclist died Saturday after he was struck by a truck in Santa Ana.

According to the SAPD, the incident took place around 7:19 p.m. when police were summoned to a call of a traffic collision in the area of 100 E. Warner Ave. Arriving officers found a man lying in the roadway with “visible trauma.”  Orange County Fire Authority personnel responded to treat him before he was transported to Orange County Global Medical Center in Santa Ana where he was pronounced dead at 8:06 p.m.

The Orange County Coroner’s office identified him as Cesar Augusto Paz of Santa Ana.

A preliminary investigation indicates the motorcycle was headed west on Warner when it collided with a truck crossing the westbound lanes of Warner from an alley. The driver of the truck remained at the scene and cooperated with police.

Alcohol is not believed to have been a factor in the accident. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
