The newest member of the Westminster School District Board of Trustees is Justina “Tina” Gustin-Gurney. She will represent Area 2 in the WSD.
She was chosen on a 4-0 vote Thursday night by the board to fill the trustee vacancy created in September by the resignation of Xavier Nguyen, who has been charged with perjury and submitting false election documents in connection with his 2018 election to the panel.
Gustin-Gurley is a retired teacher who had a 30-year career in the Garden Grove Unified School District. She also served for six years as president of the Garden Grove Education Association, the union that represents teachers and other faculty.
She has lived in Westminster since 1992 and was one of five applicants for the trustee post.
