New deaths and cases both declined in Friday’s report on coronavirus from the Orange County Health Care Agency.
Fatalities are at six, compared to Thursday’s 11. New cases of COVID-19 are at 162, down from 213. Hospitalizations fell from 168 to 162, while the number of cases in intensive care units rose from 56 to 58.
Public health officials caution against reading too much into daily tallies. The key metrics that classify counties into “tiers” is based on the twin metrics of test positivity percent and number of positive cases per 100,000. Each of those is computed using a seven-day average with a seven-day lag, and they are updated each Tuesday.
Here is a list of the Orange County cities with the most cases. Deaths are in parentheses).

- Anaheim: 9.927 (314)
