
ORANGE COUNTY coronavirus numbers have declined for two days, the OCHCA’s stats show (Shutterstock).
For the second consecutive day, the count of new coronavirus cases in Orange County showed a drop. According to the county health care agency, Monday’s total was 182, down from 233 on Sunday.
There were no deaths reported Monday. In fact, the total count was reduced by one to 1,483.
The number of people hospitalized for COVID-19 for Monday is 183, up from Sunday’s 181. Patients in intensive care units for coronavirus increased from 55 to 60.
Public health officials caution against reading too much into daily tallies. The key metrics that classify counties into tiers is based on the twin metrics of test positivity percent and number of positive cases per 100,000. Each of those is computed using a seven-day average with a seven-day lag, and they are updated each Tuesday.

- Santa Ana: 11,634 (317)
- Anaheim: 10,293 (319)
- Garden Grove: 3,309 (109)
- Orange: 2,788 (71)
- Huntington Beach: 2,642 (86).
Westminster has 1,184 cases with 31 deaths. Stanton has 727 cases with 17 deaths.
