COVID cases rise Wednesday

After a brief decline on Tuesday, new coronavirus cases reported to the Orange County Health Care Agency for Wednesday showed a sharp increase.

The latest tally shows 1,208 cases, compared to 790 the day before. Deaths rose from zero to one. Hospitalizations increased from 648 to 689. COVID-19 cases in intensive care units rose from 158 to 171.

To-date cases of coronavirus in Orange County are at 80,552, with 1,568 deaths attributed to it.

Here is a list of the OC cities with the most cases. Deaths are in parentheses.

  • Santa Ana: 15,609 (331)
  • Anaheim: 13,488 (344)
  • Garden Grove: 4,624 (116)
  • Fullerton: 3,839 (113)
  • Orange: 3,833 (73)
  • Huntington Beach: 3,431 (31)

Westminster has 1,796 cases and 31 deaths. Stanton has 955 cases and 18 deaths.
