The swearing-in of re-elected members of the city council and the selection of a mayor pro tem will top Tuesday’s meeting of the Stanton City Council.

Hong Alyce Van was elected to serve as District 2 councilmember and Carol Warren elected to serve as District 4 councilmember.

In addition to the seating of those two representatives, the council will also elect a mayor pro tem. The current holder of that position is Warren.

The council will also consider an ordinance regulating massage establishments and schedule it for adoption at the Jan.  21 meeting. Changes to the existing municipal code are including day spas under the same rules as massage parlors and setting a distance requirement of 500 feet between such businesses.

The proposed ordinance was approved by the city planning commission in November.

Tuesday’s meeting will be held via web conference, with the public session set to start at 6:30 p.m.
