COVID-19 numbers remain high

Saturday’s numbers in the Orange County Health Care Agency’s tracking of the coronavirus showed mixed results, but all the numbers remain high compared to those of recent months.

The number of new COVID-19 infections declined to 2,091 from Friday’s record high of 2,655. Deaths fell to 18 from Friday’s high of 22.

However, hospitalizations from the coronavirus increased from 1,122 to 1,150 and patients in intensive care units rose from 265 to 273.

For the entire Southern California Region (which includes Orange County), the adjusted percentage of available ICU beds is at 5.3 percent and 14.6 unadjusted. Fifteen percent is the goal.

Here is a list of the OC cities with the most cases. Deaths are in parentheses.

  • Santa Ana: 19,397 (340)
  • Anaheim: 16,669 (358)
  • Garden Grove: 5,988 (120)
  • Fullerton: 4,757 (122)
  • Orange: 4,731 (78)
  • Huntington Beach: 4,112 (93).

Westminster has 2,401 cases and 37 deaths. Stanton has 1,216 cases and 18 deaths.
