Measurements of the spread of the coronavirus in Orange County continue to show daily improvement.
According to the county health care agency, the number of confirmed new cases for Saturday was 517, down from 628 on Friday and 779 on Thursday. Deaths rose slightly, from 25 on Friday to 26 on Saturday but still less than Thursday’s total of 42.
Hospitalized COVID-19 cases are at 839 – compared to 965 on Thursday – and those being treated in intensive care units are at 270, down from 298 on Thursday.
Separate statistics in some categories from Friday were not reported because of the Lincoln’s Birthday holiday.
The to-date total of confirmed coronavirus cases for Orange County is at 242,144, of which 212,420 are considered recovered. Total deaths are 3,544.

Westminster has had 6,757 cases and 136 deaths. Stanton has had 3,045 cases and 45 deaths.
