Positive trends are continuing

The positive trends in statistics on the coronavirus pandemic in Orange County continued in Saturday’s report from the county health authority.

New confirmed cases dropped from 349 on Friday to 281 on Saturday. Hospitalizations due to COVID-19 infections declined from 453 to 444 and the use of intensive care units for coronavirus patients slumped to 128 from 137.

Deaths were reported as 12, up from three the day before, but the OCHCA advises that due to reporting problems at the state levels, the tally of decedents might be an undercount.

To date, 246,264 confirmed cases have been reported in Orange County, of which 230,569 are considered recovered. Deaths are at 3,904.

  • Santa Ana: 43,935 (695)
  • Anaheim: 40,873 (703)
  • Garden Grove: 16,080 (302)
  • Orange: 11,543 (201)
  • Fullerton: 11,107 (242)
  • Huntington Beach: 10,242 (180)

Westminster has had 6,914 cases and 153 deaths. Stanton has had 3,107 cases and 47 deaths.
