
AS VACCINATIONS against the coronavirus continue in Orange County, Wednesday’s report showed fewer new cases, deaths, hospitalizations and ICU patients (Shutterstock).
The downward slide of statistics on coronavirus in Orange County continued in Wednesday’s report from the county health agency.
According to the OCHCA, all four major daily metrics showed declines. Confirmed new cases fell to 160 from 186 on Tuesday. Hospitalizations due to COVID-19 infections dropped to 403 from 425 and the use of intensive care units to treat patients with the virus is now at 107, compared to 116 on Tuesday.
Deaths went from 31 to 14, although there are still issues with the timeliness of reporting fatalities, cautions the OCHCA.
The cumulative total of cases in the county is now at 246,980, with 234,002 considered to be recovered. Deaths are at 3,966.

- Garden Grove: 16,150 (307)

- Irvine: 10,165 (70)
Westminster has had 6,948 cases and 154 deaths. Stanton has had 3,118 cases and 47 deaths.
