After a day in which two major measurements of the coronavirus pandemic in Orange County showed unusual declines, Wednesday’s report from the county health care agency showed a return to more gradual improvements in the situation.
According to the OCHCA, Wednesday’s count of confirmed new cases rose from 23 to 163, but that’s still lower than Monday’s count of 169. Deaths went from zero to 25.
However, hospitalizations for COVID-19 infections dropped from 216 to 199. Coronavirus patients being treated in intensive care units decreased from 62 to 54.
The to-date total of confirmed cases in the county is at 249,067, of which 240,197 people are considered recovered. Deaths are totaled at 4,511.

- Irvine: 10,285 (79).
Westminster has had 7,037 cases and 179 deaths. Stanton has had 3,146 cases and 62 deaths.
