COVID-19 numbers improve

Three of four major measurements of the coronavirus pandemic in Orange County on Thursday showed improvement.

According to the county health care agency, confirmed new cases  dropped from 163 to 114. Deaths fell from 25 to 11.

Hospitalizations due to COVID-19 infections rose slightly from 199 to 213, but the count of coronavirus patients in intensive care units declined from 54 to 49.

The cumulative total of cases in Orange County is now at 249,181, of which 240,465 are considered recovered. Deaths are at 4,520.

  • Santa Ana: 44,393 (794)
  • Anaheim: 41,288 (793)
  • Garden Grove: 16,336 (350)
  • Orange: 11,673 (232)
  • Fullerton: 11,156 (276)
  • Huntington Beach: 10,420 (201)
  • Irvine: 10,290 (79)

Westminster has had 7,042 cases and 180 deaths. Stanton has had 3,145 cases and 62 deaths.
