Trends continue to encourage

Statistics about the coronavirus in Orange County continue to vary from day to day, but are continuing in their general downward direction.

According to the county health care agency, the number of confirmed new cases fell from 127 on Friday to 118 on Saturday. Hospitalizations also declined, from 206 to 197. Similarly, the number of patients being treated for COVID-19 infections in intensive care units fell from 44 to 43.

However, deaths rose from 14 to 26.

The cumulative total of coronavirus cases in the county is now at 249,326, of which 240,831 are considered recovered. Deaths are at 4,562.

  • Anaheim: 41,327 (799)
  • Garden Grove: 16,354 (353)
  • Orange: 11,678 (236)
  • Fullerton: 11,169 (277)
  • Huntington Beach: 10,442 (203)
  • Irvine: 10,306 (79)

Westminster has had 7,045 cases and 183 deaths. Stanton has had 3,145 cases and 63 deaths.
