
A WOMAN who had been riding a motorcycle in Huntington Beach died today from injuries suffered on May 31 (Shutterstock).
A woman seriously injured last week in an automobile vs. motorcycle crash in Huntington Beach has died.
According to the HBPD, the deceased is identified as Chanel Garcia, 26, of Newport Beach. The accident took place on Monday, May 31 just before 6 p.m. on Beach Boulevard north of Liberty Drive.
Arriving officers found Garcia lying in the roadway “with significant injuries.” She was taken to a local trauma center in critical condition. She died today, June 4, according to Huntington Beach police.
She had slowed at a traffic signal on her motorcycle, a 1975 black Honda, when struck from behind by a 2008 white Chevrolet Tahoe sport utility vehicle driven by Christopher Johnstone, 26, of Costa Mesa. He remained at the scene and cooperated with officers. Johnstone was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs.
